Ninin ga shinobuden is a manga adaptaion orginally written by  Ryoichi Koga.

A loud, brash and outright outrageous anime. I’ll give it a gold. Its animation style is bright, bold and also cartoon like. Full of gags and excellently done. And the story! Its not big, its a simple premise but ones which works excellently for the 12 episode series.Plus its got a perverted no humanoid as its mascot.

ninja nonsense

So what is the plot of this anime. Its basically about the normal girl, who accidently becomes friends with a female ninja in training and the antics that brings. Notably that Shinobu lives with basically a frat house full of ninjas, perverted and stupid antics included, and the master of this place is a perverted magic yellow ball. The ninjas themselves serve as both comedy relieve and plot devices. Often appearing when least wanted. While though out the anime they all look the same there are a couple of names which get repeated. There main thing is they are basically a bunch of hyped up young men who aren’t the smartest in the world, but follow the word of their master.

ninja nonsense 2

What to say about the  yellow ball which is Onsokumou? He’s an perverted idoit. He’s appearance is never really explained though at the beginning of the anime they try to exclaim he is a hawk. He claims to be the master of ninjas but it doesn’t really show any skills to back it up. He is in love with himself and also with Shinobu. And any other pretty girl. He’s a jerk, a liar and causes many of the problems. And is hilarious. It spends much of the anime getting beat up for his actions.

In summary. Good anime, very funny and keeps your attention. Silver 🙂

I watched this anime while I was still pretty green to the whole ecchi/harem genre layout. So we have a ‘beautiful’ noble, Lady Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière, who can’t use her magic properly and summons a human from another world to world as a familiar. Aka something to channel her power though. As a side note, she is well known for not being able to use her magic well and was nicknamed “Louise the Zero” by his classmates because of this. Lousie is a spoilt girl who honestly is still high up on my ‘Anime girls I would love to slap’ list. This lady is queen of being a tsudere. I don’t care that her type is tsudere, she’s a bitch who needs taking down a few notches.
As for the poor guy who gets summoned, Saito Hiraga he ends up with an abusive woman for a ‘master’. Because he is a familiar, the proof being the runes on his hand, he is basically treated like an animal by Louise. And like a pervert because he occasionally looks at women’s boobs. You know that thing all young single men do when its practically shoved in front of them. Lousie beats him often and its not always funny. Heck, the only reason he can talk and understand them all is because Lousie miscast a silencing spell, giving him the ability to understand them.
Whats more, turns out it actually a pretty good familiar. The runes on his hand means he some kind of super solider able to use any weapon given to him with a high level of skill.  Including a Jet fighter plane which fell though to that world once. But does he try to stop Lousie beating him? No! Does he fall in love with her? Yes!
Wait what? I have some serious issues with this. When did they fall in love? Saito has opinions over that Louise. I swear its some like of Stockholm syndrome and if it was the other way round this anime would be getting a lot more hate. Why is it suddenly sexy/funny for a flat chest little girl to beat the hell out of some poor bloke who has no chance of getting away? At least most tsudere character’s signant other wasn’t forced into a relationship. (Yes he fell in love, but he had to live with her and such for the series). At the end of season 2, they get married. I didn’t bother going back for season 3.
Now, all being said, I do remember sort of enjoying the anime. Its very beautiful and the characters were cool. I just hate the main girl is all. So Bronze.

B Gata H Kei Review

B Gata H Kei is a manga adaptation originally written by Yoko Sanri.

If I was to explain this anime in a sentence, its sounds pretty bad and like your standard ecchi anime. Yamada is a 15 year old girl who wants to have sex with 100 men, but is a virgin and has no idea at all what to do.

What does this boil down to? A surprisingly good coming of age comedy about a girl who despite having sex on her minds 24/7 is surprisingly innocent and naive when it boils down to these matters. This anime is pretty ballsy, and while it does have the odd fan service scene, there is less than in a lot of other animes. Its more comedy than anything else. Yamada really wants to have sex.B Gata H Kei 4 But she has no real ideas on how to seduce a boy into having sex with her. Leaving our male lead, Kosuda, confused often, especially in regards to their relationship. Yamada herself isn’t sure for most of the anime. On a day when my university lecturer commented they have too many herbivorous boys and not enough carnivorous boys but all girl are carnivorous in japan, this anime just rang true. Yamada takes some pretty bold risks while trying to seduce Kosuda. Plus her mind turns everything dirty. Everything is a chance for her to show off and to gain more followers/slaves.

B Gata H Kei 7

Kosuda is a normal looking guy who doesn’t really have any outstanding features. Which is why Yamada has picked him to be her first time. After all, as inexperienced as she is, she doesn’t want people making fun of her for it. So she picks another virgin who should be happy to have the goddess which is Yamada doting on him. Kosuda is a nice guy, and gets very fluttered by some of the attention he gets from Yamada. He in the photography club and has an older sister who is a massive tomboy and as dense as he is when it comes to romantic matters. Kind of.B Gata H Kei 5

So why do I love this anime? I knew more than a few girls like this when I was her age. Which is why I feel very sorry for her best friend who has to deal with her crazy antics. After all, there is nothing like being the mature one while your friend is immature and running around yelling about sex. Another reason I think this a very good anime because for once it shows what some girls are actually like. Not all are frail delicate flowers who only have pure hearted intentions. Some are hormonal wreaks who are obsessed with getting the D. Seriously I can remember one classmate asking around if anyone knew anyone who would be willing to take their virginity before they turned 16. Girls can be just as obsessed with sex as boys and it is refreshing to see an anime which shows a girl in this manner, admittedly a more extreme example but still very true to how some girls can be. Part of me can’t help but wonder if the author wrote this about their own experiences or about a friends and inserted some of the gags because despite the over-the-topness it does run true.
B Gata H Kei 6At that age, a lot of girls want to have sex but aren’t actually ready too. Yamado is definitely not ready, despite her complains otherwise. The first time they kiss properly, she runs away and blushes. Flashing Kosuda leaves both of them embarrassed and red faces. Also this anime doesn’t really do the whole ‘nose bleed means boner/turned on’ thing, which makes a change. Instead we get hilarious moments when Kosuda realises he turned on and prompts does sits up etc. Its fantastic and far more funny than the standard tropes. Not that his anime doesn’t have the tropes in, it has plenty. Including the one I like the least, aka the big brother complex. But luckily its one of the minor characters and at tolerable levels. Sort of.

Either was  as this anime goes on, we watch as Yamado learns that sex and emotion aren’t as easily separated as she first though, either is seduction. So I give this anime a silver. For the gags and the fact they manage to portray a girl in the middle of puberty surprising well. Not to mention a whole cast of other characters who end up swept up in the midst of it all.

Rosario to Vampire Review

Rosario to Vampire is a manga adaptation, a fairly loose adaptation but one none the less, originally written by Ikeda Akihisa.

What can I say about Rosario to Vampire. It was of the few ecchi anime’s I have ever watched and actually quite enjoyed. There was lots of panty shots and boobs. Boobs have a mind of their own in anime I swear. The ecchi in this anime was not necessarily tasteful but it was funny to watch. I also had the joy of censoring. Which put some funniness in it. The episode in Capu2 when the girls actually have long skirts on is fantastic. Just because a skirt is long doesn’t mean it won’t fly up still.

This is also a harem anime, with all the stereotypical characters. Just in supernatural form. Including loli witch, and ice cold, stoic ice queen and a bi-polar succumb.

The main character is the fairly standard human Tsukune Aono who somehow ends up going to the monster school. Sufficient to say, a lot of people want to eat him up alive. Still in manages to hide his true self for much of the series and chooses to stay at the Youkai school. Why? He has fallen in love with the pink haired Moka Akashiya who has two spilt personalties.

Moka Akashiya is a vampire, but there is a seal on her to stop her going berserk. Her pink haired persona is cute and sweet. Hates humans until she learns the guy she likes is one. Moka is not someone to be messed with because if the seal around her neck is removed (which only a human can do), her alter ego appears. Or maybe it is her actual self, it is hard to tell earlier in the series but as thing progress it becomes more obvious they they are as good as separate entities living in the same body. Vampire Moka has silver hair, red eye and is a bad ass fighter. She is aware of her alter ego and seems fond of her. Even asking Tsukane to be kind to her when they are fighting.

Moka also as a younger sister who appears in Capu2. Namely Kokoa. Kokoa hates normal Moka and Tsukane for being able to bring out the other Moka.  Kokoa loves and admires her older sister and dislike the soft thing which took her place once she was sealed. Kokoa does eventually warm up to Tsukane but it takes a while.

All in all, this anime has a lot of the standard harem cliques in it. And they work. This was a very amusing anime, even if there wasn’t must plot, if any for the vast majority or it. Ignoring keep Tsukane alive/ seduce him. So Silver.

Baccono is a a Japanese light novel adaptation written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Katsumi Enami.
Disclaimer: These are my own opinions. If someone disagrees, feel free to comment with your own.

Its awesome and amazing. Its Platinum. What more do you need. Go watch. Shoo!

Still here? Baccano is strange to me. Considering I started watching anime in 2008, and Baccano was released in 2007. How the hell did I miss it? Lack of knowledge maybe? Possibly because this is one of the most underrated anime’s ever. It is a gem. The characters are distant, well rounded and unique. It is a shame it was never given a sequel but considering Durarara is the next project, that is possibly an acceptable fill in.

Baccano is something truly different. Set from different view points though out the episodes you really get an idea of how intertwined all the characters are. It can be a little hard to get the time times sorted, as it flips between three/ four time periods. Relationships and actions which connect people. Baccano in many ways show just how complicated the world can be. One action affects a lot of people in different ways.

Then we have the music. Oh! The music. This is an anime set in 1930s New York and the music is amazing. From the sad moments to the comedy moments, this is a show who paid decent money to get the best. The opening is inspired as well. I don’t normally pay much attension to sound tracks, but the music is as much as part of the story in this as any other aspect.

Plot! I haven’t even started on the Plot! Right, so immortals, demon, Mafia families, blackmail, random bunch of murders who just want to kill people, thieves. Errr. A child trying to meet up with someone. Lets not forget Maria and Isaac! And the train. Much of this story takes place while a significance portion of the characters are on a train. Most of them heading to New York to met up with old friends. The other part takes place a year before in New York. Time lines get a little complicated but everything gets straighten out in the end. Pay attentions to the years!

Maria and Isaac are by far my favourite characters. They are a comedy relief/married duo who literally do what they want. But they are good guys, they only do things which they think will help people. Which is why the police have never really arrested them. These two are always at the centre of all the chaos, somehow some where. They are idiots but loveable ones in a anime where there is a significance amount of blood and gore. And torture.

If you haven’t watched, go watch! Now! If you have, I hope you liked it as much as I did.
